Paxil®, an antidepressant prescription drug, has been linked to heart birth defects in infants born to women who took the drug during pregnancy.
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued multiple Public Health Advisories regarding the risk of congenital malformations in babies born to mothers who take Paxil (and other similar SSRIs drugs) during their pregnancies. In particular, the increased risk is associated with persistent pulmonary hypertension (PPHN) cardiac malformations such as atrial and ventricular septal defects, which are holes in the walls of the chambers of the heart.
GlaxoSmithKline, the manufacturer of Paxil, is facing thousands of lawsuits caused by their lack of initiative to timely warn doctors and patients about these risks.
If you or a loved one took Paxil during early pregnancy and had a child born with a birth defect, this side effect may be associated with Paxil. The Buxner Law firm is currently reviewing potential Paxil lawsuits. We handle all Paxil birth defect cases on a contingency basis. You pay NO FEES or expenses, unless we recover a settlement for YOU!
