If your lender sought foreclosure on your mortgage while you were on active service in the military, you may be entitled to relief under the Service Members Civil Relief Act, including damages.

THE SERVICEMEMBERS CIVIL RELIEF ACT (SCRA)

The Servicemembers Civil Relief Act (SCRA) requires special protections for military service personnel on active duty and their dependents, including special protections from foreclosure. During the current housing crisis, many lenders have improperly initiated foreclosures against Active Duty service members without complying with these requirements. Additionally, such foreclosures may have violated other federal and state laws. These foreclosures have unnecessarily cost military personnel money, time, anguish and damaged their credit ratings while they are on duty in service to our country. We are investigating such foreclosures in order to bring actions on behalf of these men and women against lenders who violated these laws. If your lender sought to foreclose on your mortgage while you were on active service in the military, please contact us for a free initial consultation.
