Class Action Litigation

A class action is a lawsuit in which one (or a few) individuals seek to represent a larger group of people with similar or the same claims. Combining their claims-often times small individually but large as a group-allows consumers to obtain relief for injuries which, taken alone, would not be large enough to justify the time and expense of litigation against large corporate defendants.

Class actions often seek to recover both monetary damages and/or to force companies to provide other kinds of relief (such as product recalls). An additional goal of a class action is to prevent similar bad corporate acts in the future. Some examples are:
• Consumer lending claims (banking fraud)
• Design or safety defects in cars, appliances and other mechanical devices.
• Manufacture and sale of unsafe drugs.
• Wage and hour (overtime, rest break and working off the clock claims)
• Products that do not work properly
• Deceptive consumer trade practices, such as false advertising and price-fixing.
• Toxic environmental

Not all law firms are able to prosecute class actions and/or will not dedicate the time and money needed to take on corporate America. Battling corporate giants requires a law firm to have knowledge of class action procedures, command of current legal issues, and the financial ability to fight multi-million dollar corporations and their very expensive teams of lawyers. Evan Buxner is one of those lawyers who has been engaged in exactly this sort of work for years.

If you have suffered a consumer injury, we are willing and able to consider whether it may be the sort of claim appropriate for class treatment. We invite you to call Evan Buxner toll free at 1-888-725-0503 or, e-mail us.
